The Conversation Crasher

I call this person "The Conversation Crasher" because, well, they crash conversations.

Say you're in a meeting. You're having a discussion with Bertha from Accounting. Everybody is listening, even the Conversation Crasher. The CC wants to join in the discussion, but is not patient enough to wait for the proper timing--you know, the momentary lull in a conversation when it's not considered rude to jump in.

So the CC just starts talking. While you're talking. Hmm... that's weird, you think. So you keep talking, half-hoping the CC will stop talking.

So the CC starts talking louder. This throws you off a bit. Poor Bertha doesn't know who to listen to now. And so you try, in vain, to continue. Because the CC will try to out-talk you, even louder if needed. And because at some point you realize how hard it is to compose your own thoughts and talk, while at the same time listening to a voice that is actually louder than your own.

So you yield and stop talking, turn to the direction of the CC and start listening. At which point the CC starts talking softly, almost to a whisper, so everybody will need to listen more intently.

And that's how your conversation got crashed.
